Description
Burlington Country Club is a private 18 hole Donald Ross designed gem.
Located near Lake Champlain, in beautiful Burlington, Vermont, BCC has
hosted many state tournaments and golf championships. Home to more than
470 members, BCC has also undergone recent major renovations to the course
and it’s clubhouse. Almost 27,000 rounds were played at our facility in
2009. Our club abuts the campus of the University of Vermont, is a short
90-minute drive to Montreal, and a ten-minute drive to The Burlington
International airport.
Job
Description
The Assistant Golf Professional at Burlington Country Club is a key member
of the golf operations team, and assists the head golf professional in all
duties related to managing the golf facility and its equipment. The
Assistant Golf Professional at BCC will assist in administering all daily
operations of the club, including but not limited to:

Managing the handicap and foretees and tournament tee signup applications
·
Improving guest relations and member enthusiasm by promoting club
tournaments and activities.
·
Play a lead role in the preparation and execution of all golf outings and
events, scorecard recaps and scoring, pairing sheets, and coordination of
ceremonies.
·Work
closely with other team members to monitor all aspects of play including
starting, pace of play, safety, and the proper use of all equipment.
·
Lead instructor for the junior golf program as well as member and group
lessons.
·
Facilitating the sales and merchandising of the professional shop
including its daily maintenance.
·
Course supervision including the bag room and driving range facilities.
·
Operation of the POS system and revisions as it applies to green fee
sales, merchandise sales, and member/guest billing. The assistant will
coordinate with the Accounting staff all policy and procedure revisions,
updates, and implementation, and perform check-in and process payments.

Assist with the supervision and training of the shop, starter, bag room,
and driving range employees.

Understanding all opening and closing procedures
The desire to work in a team-oriented environment is essential.
Experience
Required
Some College or a professional degree is preferred.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Jonas, GHIN, and Foretees is helpful.
Must currently be registered in the PGA of America’s Golf professional
Training Program as a Level 2 Apprentice.
Merchandising experience at a private golf club or have similar retail
experience.

Supervisor Title: Head Golf Professional
Compensation: Salary based upon experience and 100% of lesson income
Position Type: Seasonal
Start Date: Approximately May 1, 2010
End Date: October 31, 2010 or other to be negotiated
Education Required: At least a level 1, 2, 3 from the PGA.
