A & B are playing C & D in a
four-ball stroke play competition. A's ball is on the green, behind the
hole, in a position to assist his partner B who is chipping to the hole from off
the green. B states to A, "leave your ball there in case I hit this too
hard." A says "OK". C, however, asks A to please mark his ball.
A refuses. B chips to the hole but comes up short. What is the
ruling?
 |
No penalty. When it is
Side A/B's turn to play, they have control of their own golf balls. |
 |
A is disqualified from the play
of the hole only. |
 |
B is disqualified from the play
of the hole only. |
 |
A & B are disqualified from
the competition. |
